For over 22 years, Johnston Insurance Brokers have been providing insurance services in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and the surrounding areas.
Judy founded Judy Johnston Insurance Services in 2000, building the business from the ground up. She acquired the SGI motor licensing arm in 2011 and has been expanding the ever since.
In 2020, as the business grew, Judy partnered with Bobbee Wood. Bobbee has a strong background in Individual and Group Benefits specifically Health, Travel and Visitor to Canada insurance while Judy has over 40 years in Property and Casualty Insurance. Together, their experience allowed Johnston Insurance Brokers to grow to offer an extensive suite of products and services for both personal and business insurance needs.
In June 2022, as the business continued to experience growth, Sarah Johnston joined the team with hopes to continue to growing into new markets, regions, and products such as a larger focus on Business Insurance, Group Benefits, and Life Insurance Products. Sarah and Bobbee are excited to be working together again after having worked for 15 years at Saskatchewan Blue Cross and Group Medical Services (GMS). They are looking forward to their new adventure as Partners.

Sarah Johnston | Chief Executive Officer, Partner
Sarah is a strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in the benefits and insurance industry. Sarah started her career in the insurance industry as a broker in at Judy Johnston Insurance and has since held numerous executive leadership roles in multiple disciplines including Human Resources, Business Development, Product Management, Operations, Marketing and Sales. Most recently, Sarah was the Vice President, Marketing and Business Development with Knight Archer Insurance, the largest Independent Brokerage in Saskatchewan.
Prior to Sarah’s return to the Property and Casualty industry she was the Vice President, Sales, and Marketing with Group Medical Services (GMS) a National Health, Travel, and Group Benefits Insurance company for four years. She also had an 11-year career with Saskatchewan Blue Cross holding leadership roles including Manager, Individual Product & Sales and multiple Human Resources progressive leadership roles.
Sarah is the Vice Chair of the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) Board of Directors, the Chair of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute (CPBI) Regional Council, an elected Board of Director for the Chartered Professionals of Human Resources (CPHR) and the Chair of the Saskatchewan Insurance Workforce Development Coalition.
She was born and raised in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and married to another local(ish) Steven Turner from Eston, Saskatchewan. They have a son, Atlas and are expecting their second child this summer.
Bobbee Wood | Chief Operating Officer, Partner
Bobbee has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She started her career in insurance as a broker in Manitoba and moved to Saskatchewan to start her family. She has worked in numerous, progressive leadership roles including Saskatchewan Blue Cross as a Call Centre Specialist, Team Lead of Individual Product & Sales, and Manager, Sales with Group Medical Services (GMS) where she was responsible for leading a national sales team and over 5000 brokers in Visitor to Canada, Travel, Individual & Group Benefits.
Bobbee has held numerous leadership roles in sales, customer service and distribution. Bobbee specializes in Commercial Insurance, Personal and Group Health & Travel benefits, Auto and Home Insurance.
Bobbee is all about community and is always volunteering her time for charitable or volunteer groups. She is currently a council member on CPBI and chair of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Conference Planning Committee.
When Bobbee isn’t talking insurance – which isn’t often- she is spending time with her two sons, Breydan and Brantt and her husband Chad at their cabin at Turtle Lake. If there is someone that can give Judy a run for her money in the “chatting” department, its Bobbee! Her friends call her Nanny B as she is always encouraging them to have more babies. She is currently working on her son, Breydan and daughter-in-law to make her an official grandma.

Judy has had an impressive career in the insurance industry with over 40 years of experience. She started her career in insurance with SMI and has since owned three different brokerages in rural Saskatchewan.
Judy is a proud member of the Rosetown community and sits on the Age Friendly Board of Directors and is a past Chamber of Commerce Board Director.
Judy specializes in Farm, Home and all things insurance. She has a hidden skill of associating absolutely anything to insurance, and we mean anything! If you don’t believe us, come on in and give it a try.
Judy and her husband Ward live and farm just outside of Rosetown. They have four children and 9 grandchildren with another on the way. In Judy’s spare time she loves to spend time with her grandchildren and family, watching them play sports and participate in activities.
Roberta Bell | Personal Lines Insurance Broker
The name behind this incredible smile is Roberta Jean Bell. Roberta has been with us for 6 years and has completed her CAIB 3. Her favorite product to sell is Home and Auto Insurance but she is learning Commercial, Farm and Commercial Auto right now and is really enjoying it.
She is a proud mom to Evan and grandma to her grandson Sebastian James Falk. She is also going to be a grandma again this winter.
Roberta loves to bowl and has been bowling since she was 5 years old. You can still find her on Thursday’s at the bowling alley but this league is only for fun.
Ashley Messer | Motor License Issuer & Customer Service
Ashley, or as some call her “Girly” works as a full time Motor License Issuer in our Rosetown office. She is the newest member of our team having joined us in November 2021. Ashley has an extensive background in customer service. In her role she interacts with our clients requiring new drivers license photo ID, renewals, package policies, registration or plate insurance. She does ongoing learning, keeps the front end of the business running and reinforces best practices that make sure clients are happy. She has completed her Restricted Auto Exams and can assist you with all your auto insurance and motor license needs.
She loves to do her best to make sure that she is meeting client needs. When not at work she loves to spend time with her 3 kids, Easton, Arlo, and Rowan. She also has 3 fur babies to keep her busy.
Delores Jeancart | Administration & Customer Service
Delores’ primary roles at Johnston Insurance Brokers include greeting people, answering phones and other administrative duties for the business center. She is the first person that you see upon entering our building. She works full time and her favourite part of her role is seeing the customers and getting to know so many new people.
Delores has two children and three grandchildren Arlo and Rowan, and one step grandson Easton. When she isn’t working she loves baking and travelling in the open air.
Edna Gowen | Motor License Issuer & Customer Service
Edna started working at Johnston Insurance Brokers during the pandemic to cover Saturday and holiday shifts. She has continued to work part-time and has since received her motor license issuing certification.
Edna has two children and four grandchildren Kalli, Alisha, Nate and Noah. Edna loves her family. “Auntie Edna” has numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that look up to her.
Edna is a hometown girl, has a heart of gold, and is often found volunteering on community projects. Edna’s smile can be seen through a mask and certainly she can be heard through one 🙂 She has volunteered for years at the Rosetown hospital and villa. Edna has so many friends in the community that look forward to her visits.
She has been a lifesaver during busy times and helps out on the team on short notice wherever she can.
